Engineer II, Automation is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated systems and processes to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and reduce costs for our manufacturing site in Merrimack, NH.
Create and maintain equipment design documentation, including equipment requirements, hardware specifications, software specifications, equipment configuration documents and test plans.
Design machine electrical and pneumatic systems, including selecting components, creating Bills of Materials and drawing schematics.
Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, servo systems and all other software driven controls components to operate production and test equipment in accordance with equipment requirements documents.
Perform control systems review activities including risk assessments, code reviews and design/drawing reviews.
Integrate and test control systems hardware and participate in equipment builds.
Test and debug PLC, HMI and instrumentation software.
Configure and test machine instruments, components and peripherals.
Troubleshoot and provide technical expertise during maintenance of production equipment in a controlled environment.
Support validation of new equipment and controls.
Interface with other departments such as Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing and R D.
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related duties as requested.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
Minimum two years related experience.
Design knowledge and experience in use of CAD, PLC and HMI software.

Demonstrated expertise in technical writing, with the ability to abstract and organize information for manufacturing equipment documentation.
Strong computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
