About The Position

Engineer I - Maintenance Specialist is a highly experienced maintenance professional specializing in plumbing, HVAC, and electricity. This role involves leading the day-to-day maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds, ensuring optimal functionality and adherence to established standards.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with common tools and mastery in skilled maintenance and repair tasks related to plumbing, HVAC, and electricity.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, work orders, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
  • Exceptionally thorough and attentive to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree from a four-year university is highly desired.
  • Candidates with degrees from a two-year university combined with extensive related experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience as a hotel engineer is preferred or comparable maintenance experience at an establishment such as an apartment complex or office building.
  • Computer skills including Internet, e-mail, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.

Responsibilities

  • Takes the lead in day-to-day maintenance and repair of buildings, specializing in plumbing, kitchen, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Conducts thorough visual inspections of buildings and grounds during daily work, reporting and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Operate and maintain hotel mechanical systems, including the domestic water system, hot water systems, chilled water systems, and pool systems.
  • Responds to employee and guest requests in a courteous and timely manner, providing expert solutions to complex maintenance challenges.
  • Manages inventory of supplies and equipment related to plumbing, HVAC, and electrical maintenance.
  • Maintains a set of advanced personal tools required for the Engineer I - Maintenance Specialist position.
  • Ensures a clean work area and keeps tools and equipment in top working order.
  • Adheres to company policy and management instructions, setting an example for compliance.
  • Always performs duties according to Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) standards and company safety policies.
  • Actively seeks opportunities for professional development and knowledge expansion within the field.
  • Adheres to a professional appearance standard and wears the required uniform.
  • Must be available to work on an on-call basis.
  • Performing routine preventive maintenance on guest rooms and building equipment, repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and fixtures, performing preventative maintenance services on systems and equipment, assisting with any other maintenance needs at the building as needed
  • Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
