This Engineer I position is responsible for addressing guest repair requests and resolving maintenance issues through direct communication. Key duties include performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment in areas like kitchens and mechanical rooms, which involves cleaning and lubrication, as well as visually inspecting equipment. The role requires the ability to carry tools and equipment, identify and operate shut-off valves for various systems and utilities, and manage maintenance inventory by requisitioning parts and supplies. The Engineer I must effectively communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts. The position demands basic knowledge or the capacity to learn about air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Specific tasks include surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of work areas. The Engineer I will also test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing fixtures (like unclogging drains), electrical components (such as lamps, switches, and outlets), internet devices, and other guestroom items. Programming TVs and performing general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory tasks are also part of the role. Adherence to the Lockout/Tagout system is mandatory before maintenance work. The position also involves repairs on interior and exterior landscaping and sprinklers, along with basic computer skills for tasks like inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures. The Engineer I must comply with all company, safety, and security policies, report hazards or injuries, complete safety training, and properly store flammable materials. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, ensuring confidentiality, and protecting company assets are essential. The role requires welcoming guests, anticipating their needs, assisting those with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation. Adherence to quality standards, fostering positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and clear communication with colleagues are also expected. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds independently, assisting with heavier items, moving on stairs, ramps, and ladders, and performing tasks that involve reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The role also requires using computers to access work-related information.
