The Quality Team supports operations across TSMD and its subsidiaries to ensure compliance with TSMD’s quality management system and drive continuous improvement to internal and external requirements. Quality Engineers provide support to the factory floor, utilize core tools (FMEA, PCP, SPC) to drive continuous improvement, lead root cause investigations and corrective action projects, and respond to customer requests on quality subjects. Quality Engineers support TSMD’s quality system with internal and third-party audits. Position Charter The Engineer I applies a broad knowledge of a specific technical subject matter to support TSMD’s technical teams with testing, process and project development, problem solving, and continuous improvement. Position Profile Exempt / Full-time Reporting Relationships The Engineer I reports to their Department or Engineering manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or equivalent.
  • Broad knowledge of technical focus area.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by process.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of structured problem solving, SPC, lean principles, and FMEA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Applies broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices in a specific technical area.
  • Leads projects as assigned by engineering manager.
  • Documents work effectively and presents results to internal cross functional groups.
  • Develops and maintains procedures, work instructions, and training materials to support technical area.
  • Works cross functionally on projects and initiatives.
  • Applies problem solving, SPC, and other engineering fundamentals to support investigations.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives, including safety and environmental improvements.
  • Supports technical discussions with suppliers and customers in specific technical area of focus.
  • Understands and adheres to all safety requirements.
  • Communicates identified risks to leadership and assists in resolution.
  • Completes all 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) standards to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Contributes to culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct.
  • Maintains a positive attitude, displays enthusiasm for assigned tasks, and communicates effectively and professionally with team members.
  • Other related duties.
