About The Position

Microchip products are at the heart of millions of consumer devices and networks, and we are looking for an exceptional person to join our team as a Validation Engineer. A candidate placed in this position will be a contributor in the USB and Networking Validation Team, focused on bringing advanced connectivity devices to market, including Ethernet switches and PHY’s, USB 3.2 hubs, PCI-Express, and other connectivity interfaces in excess of 25Gbps.

Requirements

  • Holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of Basic Electronics includes Power, Digital and Analog design fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of low-speed Peripheral interfaces like SPI, UART, I2C etc.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet (Wired) & PCIe products, Interfaces and standards
  • Good knowledge on Micro Processor/Controller family.
  • Working knowledge of Embedded C, Linux, Python/TCL (tool command languages), any other programming languages etc.
  • Flexibility to adapt to Hardware & Software.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, analytical and communications skills
  • Should be able to work in a challenging and engaging work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, accountability and professional development
  • Exposure to working in Lab environment and should be Familiar with lab equipment like Oscilloscope, logic analyzer etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with HDL’s - Verilog/VHDL and FPFGA/ASIC design flow is added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop validation and test plan documentation based on datasheets and by thinking beyond the design implementation to find elusive bugs and ensure sufficient test coverage to reach a production worthy device.
  • Specify and design test environments including Software requirements Lab Equipment requirements Test board designs
  • Perform lab-based post-silicon validation data collection and document results.
  • Work with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, and Applications Engineering to validate new silicon products.
  • Work in the lab to replicate customer issues and, when necessary, interface directly with field engineers to root cause a customer problem.
