Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Engineer I - V CNS (Mechanical or Electrical) located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. Position closes January 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time or until filled. Position SummaryThis position will support the Engineering Programs & Components (EP&C) Department. The Engineer will be responsible for managing their assigned Engineering programs, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Cooper Nuclear Station. Programs may include, but are not limited to, lube oil analysis, aging management, and preventative maintenance. The Engineer will contribute to maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. This position may be assigned to a position within the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) that requires response to the station when an emergency is declared. Assignment to one of these positions and a condition of continued employment will be the ability to arrive at the station to perform ERO responsibilities within 45 minutes of notification of an emergency. Note: Level I to Level V Engineer is considered a progression and is approved by the appropriate manager. Engineering positions are managed under the NPPD Nuclear Engineering Career Path document. Education, Training and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET Accredited School). Mechanical or Electrical Engineer degree preferred. Other Requirements: Proficient communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel and Word. Technical writing skills.
