Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering field is required- preferably Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Paper Science, Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven individual who can also perform well in a team setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Permanent authorization to work in U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize engineering skills to solve problems and create solutions to equipment downtime and operating costs as well as engineering for equipment modifications and new equipment installations.
  • Perform basic engineering, calculations, investigations and tasks assigned.
  • Collaborate with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing reports, graphs, planning layouts and summaries designed to communicate project progress or results.
  • Plan and execute process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot process and/or equipment issues, involving equipment for power generation, electrical power distribution, equipment drives, PLCs, and distributed controls.
  • Use various computer systems and tools to perform data analysis to make critical data-driven decisions.
  • Investigate and implement energy and cost saving projects.
  • Work closely with maintenance technicians, operators and other engineers.
  • Give presentations to mill management about project recommendations.
  • Develop training materials and train maintenance technicians on new skills.
  • Coordinate shutdown of equipment and operations.
  • Learn and utilize Lean/Six Sigma tools to improve process/reduce costs.
