Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Contribute to the full life cycle development of Class I and II medical devices, with a strong emphasis on systems integration, hardware reliability, and cross-functional collaboration. This role offers opportunities to apply electrical engineering expertise in a systems context, particularly in support of reliability infrastructure and hardware-heavy product lines. Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.

  • Collaborate on hardware-heavy development efforts for flagship camera console platforms, applying electrical engineering expertise in system integration, fixture design, and hardware validation.
  • Support the build-out and automation of the reliability lab, including the design, control, and instrumentation of test fixtures and systems to simulate real-world use cases.
  • Design and execute simulation-based Design of Experiments (DOE) to evaluate system performance and reliability under varied conditions.
  • Analyze engineering data using statistical and computational tools to inform design decisions, identify trends, and improve system robustness.
  • Lead and contribute to requirements engineering activities, including the definition, decomposition, and traceability of product requirements across disciplines.
  • Manage the completion of Design Control Documentation, including Risk Management Files, Verification/Validation protocols, and Traceability Matrices.
  • Wear both project management and product management hats as needed—coordinating cross-functional teams, aligning stakeholders, and driving execution across the product lifecycle.
  • Assist in troubleshooting hyper care units and sustaining product lines, applying root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Support external testing efforts, including EMC and safety testing to IEC 60601 standards, and interface with notified bodies (e.g., UL, TUV).
  • Integrate subsystems into cohesive, functioning systems while balancing performance, cost, and schedule constraints.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, resilience, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required, with a strong preference for candidates with a concentration in Electrical Engineering.
  • Degrees in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related engineering disciplines will also be considered, provided candidates can demonstrate substantial coursework or hands-on experience in electrical engineering.
  • A master’s degree (M.S. or higher) is preferred.
  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering with ability to apply EE principles in system-level contexts.
  • Proficient in systems engineering fundamentals, including requirements development and risk-based thinking.
  • Skilled in data analysis and simulation techniques to support design decisions.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset—actively seeks feedback, adapts to challenges, and pursues continuous learning.
