As an Engineer I – Research and Development, you will provide engineering support for projects across multiple business units, assisting with the research, design, and development of new or improved products. Working under immediate to general supervision and following established procedures, you will perform assigned engineering tasks with work reviewed by more senior engineers. This role involves developing creative solutions to challenging problems, collecting/analyzing data and making decisions on next steps. Tasks typically include research, planning, physical setup of tests, configuring instrumentation, operating equipment, analyzing data and documenting results. This position also includes direct interaction with customers and sales personnel, participating in technical discussions, and conducting or demonstrating testing activities related to customer applications. This role collaborates closely with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and cross-functional teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet project requirements, while supporting innovation, continuous improvement, and awareness of evolving technology and industry trends. This role encourages innovation and continuously improves efficiency of technical support, monitors advances of technology and competition, and supports global and acquisition-related technical issues in areas of expertise.
