About The Position

Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is currently accepting applications for a Process Engineer I to support our Design Centers in Houston or Corpus Christi, TX. The Process Engineer I will be responsible for completing project specific objectives, on time, under the direction of the Sr. Process Engineer.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

Develops Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), and Heat and Mass Balances (HMB)
Develops Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), and Process / Mechanical Equipment Datasheets
Performs hydraulic analysis and calculations for piping systems.
Develops process simulations.
Performs calculations for sizing and rating various equipment like pumps, horizontal and vertical vessels, heat exchangers, and air coolers.
Develops line lists, specialty items and piping tie-in lists.
Prepares instrument process datasheets.
Writes Process Description and Process Design Basis.
Devises new approaches to problems encountered, receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
Works as a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of the subject matter or the functional area of the assignment.
Follows project responsibilities as defined for the assigned project position.
Supports projects as an individual contributor.
Participates in various client PFD, P&ID, and Process Hazard Analysis reviews (i.e.HAZID, HAZOP/LOPA).
Responsible for design of relief system including contingency analysis, relief valve sizing, flare header design, and flare header analysis.
Present technical information to peers and/or clients for review and comment.
Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems.
Performs other duties of a related nature which may be assigned.
