About The Position

The position involves providing support to ensure a safe and healthful environment for all employees while maintaining compliance with government regulations and corporate policies. The role requires developing expertise in Facilities manufacturing equipment and processes to support manufacturing initiatives that meet customer and business requirements. The individual will assist in developing mechanical knowledge and skills for technical resources and others, providing technical expertise in mechanical design, and offering daily manufacturing support to analyze and resolve process issues related to equipment, product quality, and productivity. Additionally, the role includes participating in continuous improvement activities, coordinating projects, and providing technical support for the commercialization of new products and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent with 2 years Process/Mechanical Engineering experience, or non-degreed participants with six years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D for part and plant drawings; 3D/Inventor experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and well-organized with the ability to support multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to develop training materials and effectively train adult learners.
  • Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control), Process Capability, and data-driven problem solving.
  • Experience with team-based problem solving and process resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical expertise in mechanical design of components, equipment, and processes.
  • Offers daily manufacturing support to analyze and resolve process issues related to equipment, product quality, and productivity.
  • Assists with the development of machine centerlines and good run settings.
  • Participates in and provides coordination and leadership for projects, including continuous improvement initiatives and equipment modifications.
  • Utilizes tools to ensure objectives are met with defined results and keeps stakeholders informed.
  • Provides technical support for the commercialization of new products, processes, or systems.
  • Coordinates the fabrication, operation, installation, and/or repair of equipment and processes.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost initiatives.
  • Supports purchasing by providing equipment specifications and resolving equipment or parts issues.
  • Analyzes production, waste, and delay information to identify opportunities for improvement.
