The Special Operations Army (SOA) Platform Systems team within Collins Aerospace is seeking a Systems Engineer I. Our team is responsible for the MH-60M and MH-47G helicopter flight decks for the SOA customer.  The selected engineer will be a member of our platform systems engineering team and participate in avionics engineering tasks that are associated with the design, development, integration, and test of platform and software applications.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Current or previous Avionics experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic experience working within an aerospace related engineering development environment.
  • A basic understanding of general design or engineering change processes to successfully create, integrate, test, and deliver features in an engineering or technology environment.
  • A collaborative attitude, accountability for actions taken, execution to plan, and self-motivation that produces superior results.
  • Experience with Agile development

Responsibilities

  • Support requirements capture for MH-60M/MH-47G cockpit avionics for the SOA programs.
  • Decompose and allocate requirements to appropriate domains within Collins Aerospace.
  • Support cross-functional team development with both external customer stakeholders and internal software and hardware engineering teams.
  • Onsite execution of requirements-based testing, robustness and ad-hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases).
