Depending upon the qualifications of the successful applicant, the hiring manager may elect to fill this position as an Engineer I or one higher level as an Engineer II. The Engineer I/II position is the entry level and intermediate levels, respectively, of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer I/II position solve problems in engineering areas of specialization with close supervision. An Engineer I/II is expected to develop skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer I/II has knowledge of fundamental concepts and procedures. This position is part of the Protection and Control Engineering group located in Cincinnati, OH. This work group is responsible for design of protection and control relaying applications for substations (new and existing). Design projects range from routine equipment modification and installations, to the complete design of new transmission facilities. Coordinates work to manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely release of engineering designs. The individual will utilize a variety of tools and techniques to complete assigned engineering design, including Aspen Oneliner, Aspen Relay Database, Maximo, relay-specific programming software, and Microsoft Office products.
