The Engineer I- Manufacturing works integrally with maintenance technicians, maintenance technician team leader, engineers and other plant personnel in the analysis of process problems and troubleshooting equipment problems to ensure proper process operation. The role involves making changes to enhance the machine functionality of the equipment, continuously improve/upgrade equipment using six sigma/lean principles, and troubleshoot and solve errors/problems on production equipment. Responsibilities also include ensuring the work environment, equipment and processes are in safe condition and meet or exceed OSHA requirements, analyzing and planning work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designing layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. The Engineer I will determine product specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials or parts, contact potential suppliers for production equipment, oversee implementation of the equipment on the floor, estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs, and ensure that the quality of the product produced meets all customer requirements.
