Assists in planning and designing manufacturing processes for a production facility. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization. Determines the parts, equipment, and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Works on projects and matters of limited complexity in a support role.

Requirements

  • Strong and consistent attention to detail.
  • Build relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with 2 and 3-D CAD.
  • Understanding of problem-solving techniques (5 why & root cause analysis).
  • Understanding of statistical techniques and data analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work directly with all levels of the organization concerning manufacturing initiatives and progress updates.
  • Hardworking, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined.
  • Versatile, flexible, and willing to work with changing priorities.
  • Effectively prioritize and execute concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid PC skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with cost/savings estimation.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees in the organization.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and methods.
  • Creative and innovative team player.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and make timely decisions.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing ideology and methods.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, or equivalent education and experience required.
  • Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Understand manufacturing processes with emphasis on metal fabrication and assemblies.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and root causes and define and execute resolutions.
  • Define test requirements and collect, analyze, and interpret data to validate process improvements.
  • Learn and implement lean principles and apply them to various manufacturing and business processes.
  • Execute change management through established processes and documentation.
  • Develop or modify change management processes and documentation to meet project needs.
  • Sustain improvements by setting clear expectations and KPIs.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Ensure the highest level of safety, quality, and collaboration is achieved throughout every project.
  • Prepare and/or assist with detailed technical documentation, project plans, plant layouts, and standards of practice.
  • Engage key stakeholders and resources to achieve project goals and timelines.
