About The Position

Dominion Energy South Carolina is looking for an Engineer I, II, III to join our team in the greater Beaufort, SC area. This is a full-time position supporting Electric Distribution Engineering in the Southern District. The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates' education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. This is an entry or developmental level position providing engineering support in designated company area, or specific engineering discipline. This position will be responsible for performing engineering calculations, analysis, research and design; under direction of supervisor or work leader, performs routine assignments designed to develop professional engineering work knowledge, gain familiarity with techniques, approaches, practices and the nature of engineering systems, equipment, etc; develop the ability to apply fundamental engineering principles and techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out sequence of related engineering tasks; limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

Requirements

  • Engineer I: 0-2 years of engineering experience; basic knowledge of engineering concepts, fundamentals and theory.
  • Oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).
  • Effective decision making skills.
  • Computer skills and application of software programs.
  • Analytical and abstract thinking skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to learn to apply engineering theories and concepts to complex problems.
  • Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.

  • Ability to develop project management skills and to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Engineer II: 3+ years of relevant engineering experience; knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles.
  • Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.).
  • Planning, organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills.
  • Engineer III: 5+ years of relevant engineering experience; full knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
  • Skilled in use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Nuclear power plant.
  • Valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Responsibilities
