We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Engineering Analyst to support our engineering, modeling and simulation, and operations teams by applying engineering principles to solve complex problems, optimize systems, and improve processes. The Engineering Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the development and demonstration of innovative laser technologies and their applications. This role does not involve traditional product design but does require a strong understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering concepts to interpret, evaluate, and support technical projects across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze complex systems, identify areas for improvement, and develop creative solutions to drive innovation. The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution.

  • Synthesize multiple sparse sets of information from various sources, including technical reports, research papers and experimental data to create a single cohesive narrative that informs engineering decisions and drives project progress.
  • Develop and apply mathematical models to simulate and predict system behavior.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers, to evaluate new laser technologies.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with existing models and processes and develop creative solutions to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including reports, models, and presentations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Solid analytical skills with experience using engineering tools, data analysis, and reporting software.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical engineering principles, including CAD design and simulation tools such as SolidWorks, Ansys, or Abaqus.
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an engineering or analytical role, preferably in a research and development environment.
  • Experience with laser technologies and diagnostics, including optical and photonic systems.
  • Experience with data acquisition and instrumentation, including sensors and measurement systems.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Health savings accounts.
  • 401(k) savings plan.
  • Disability coverage.
