The Aero Thermal Fluids (ATF) organization is responsible for the functional aerodynamic design, analysis and performance of components and modules throughout Pratt & Whitney commercial and military engine product lines. The Aero Propulsion Systems teams are part of the ATF organization focused on the aerodynamic design and analysis of high-performance military exhaust systems, including bypass duct and nozzle aerodynamics, augmentor combustion, and exhaust system cooling design, as well as propulsion system acoustics and aeromechanics, and commercial engine inlet / nacelle aerodynamics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM field
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • Modeling, analysis and meshing experience (Fluent, Star-CCM, CharLES, PowerFlow, etc)
  • Flowpath lofting and CAD experience
  • ANSYS / FEA experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Perform aerodynamics, acoustics, and/or thermal analyses in support of aircraft engine and technology development
  • Process analytical and rig / engine test data to inform design decisions and root cause analyses
  • Coordinate analyses, review with subject matter experts, and communicate results as part of a cross-discipline team
