The End User Computing Engineer is responsible for the effective deployment, configuration, operation, and maintenance of employee-facing technology systems. This role is critical in ensuring that the technology solutions provided to employees are not only functional but also align with industry best practices and organizational requirements. Working under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager of End User Computing, the engineer will collaborate closely with various teams to design and implement technology solutions that enhance the end-user experience across multiple devices and platforms. In this position, the engineer will maintain highly available, stable, secure, and recoverable database systems that meet or exceed established service levels. They will also be tasked with developing and implementing a framework for regular updates and maintenance of desktop images, mobile devices, and VDI infrastructure. The role requires hands-on experience with VMware technology solutions for virtualization, networking, and storage infrastructures, as well as mobile device management solutions such as Workspace One UEM (Airwatch). The engineer will conduct technical investigations of user-reported issues, perform root cause analysis, and participate in design decisions that impact computing within the company. They will also contribute to product documentation and user manuals, perform system maintenance as required, and implement IT Change Control processes in coordination with the Client Experience team. Additionally, the engineer will assist in maintaining a team dashboard illustrating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to team and environmental performance, and identify areas for policy and procedure improvements. Overall, the End User Computing Engineer plays a vital role in delivering a high-quality, consistent user experience, ensuring that all technology solutions are designed with redundancy, scalability, and security in mind.
