About The Position
The Sonoco Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a unique opportunity designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders within Sonoco, a global leader in packaging solutions. This program aims to develop leadership skills, enhance technical knowledge, and establish strong business acumen while immersing participants in Sonoco's culture and operational processes. Participants can expect a blend of hands-on experiences and opportunities that will allow them to gain a deeper understanding of their leadership style and contribute meaningfully to the company through valuable project work. Throughout the ELP, associates will engage in various core objectives that include Technical Skills Training focusing on safety, quality, scheduling, and customer satisfaction. Leadership Training will cover essential supervisory skills, performance management, and mentorship. Business Insights will emphasize accountability, execution, risk-taking, and budgeting, while Culture Integration will foster communication, collaboration, and innovation. The program is tailored to provide a comprehensive experience that prepares participants for future roles such as Plant Manager, Director of Finance, Supply Chain Leader, or Regional Manufacturing Director. Sonoco is looking for individuals who embody strong ethics, a passion for innovation, and a willingness to go the extra mile. Candidates must be pursuing or have obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management by December 2024 or May 2025, possess previous internship experience (preferably in manufacturing), demonstrate proven leadership experience, and have a desire to work in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are also essential for success in this role.
