About The Position

This position is in fleet technical support of NIMITZ class ship specifically in the ETC system and advanced electrical system area. The candidate should have significant experience in the Control System and equipment of the systems function and/or integration of complex systems involving experience with the controls integration of motors, motor drives, variable frequency drive, and encoders. Familiarity with carrier reactor and propulsion plant arrangement, operation and construction is also desired. The candidate should have experience leading complex technical projects and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position will require significant interaction with both internal and external customers and the candidate must be comfortable interacting with technical and management leaders outside of the company. This position will also require overseeing senior/junior engineers with guidance/advisor on any questions of making decision in the technical needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 9 Years with Bachelor's in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
  • Significant experience in Control System and equipment integration.
  • Experience with controls integration of motors, motor drives, variable frequency drive, and encoders.

Nice To Haves

  • In-depth knowledge of ETC and Advanced Electrical Systems of Aircraft Carrier.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, analyzing, testing, and implementing control systems.
  • Strong experience in remote field support.
  • Experience with Program Logics Controllers (PLC), Distribution Control Systems (DCS), Network communication topology, Human Machine Interface, MATLAB/Simulink, LabView.
  • Basic understanding of cyber security industrial standards for control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
  • Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Oversees senior/junior engineers and provides guidance on technical decisions.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers, including technical and management leaders.
