About The Position

Researches, develops, designs, and provides support testing and troubleshooting electrical components, equipment, and systems for Nimitz Class Aircraft Carriers. Designs electrical equipment, components and provides products to support Nimitz class electrical systems. Knowledge of power systems is also preferred. The candidate should have experience with program management and providing technical leadership, show initiative in supporting and learning electrical and mechanical engineering concepts, and possess good writing and communication skills. An understanding of Nimitz Class Power Distribution and control system design and operation is preferred, as this role is for a senior level engineer in the E63 Power Group. The candidate will be expected to go onboard Carrier vessels for ship checking and troubleshooting. Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of power systems is also preferred.
