About The Position
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. This position is part of the Newport News Shipbuilding Nuclear Reactor Servicing Engineering group, responsible for providing on site engineering support to fuel, refuel and defuel Navy nuclear reactors as well as servicing the same. Requirements
- Must Have Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.
- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Nice To Haves
- Candidate should have some basic electrical engineering experience with electrical system design, maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and/or crane/lifting and handling equipment.
- Basic knowledge of VFD driven motors and radio controls for both AC & DC systems.
- Basic proficiency in PLC programming, Auto CAD, and relevant electrical engineering software.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and computer skills are preferred.
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills are preferred.
