About The Position

Are you passionate about designing and building transportation systems that improve the lives of thousands of people in your community, county and state? As an entry level Civil Engineer (Transportation) at HEI, you'll work on projects such as traffic planning, roadway and railway design, geometric layout, drainage analysis, erosion control, and/or environmental clearance coordination. The civil engineer projects you work on may also be federal, state, county and municipal roadways.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related Engineering degree.
• 0-3 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in the design and construction of state DOT and county highway projects preferred.
• Experience operating MicroStation, Geopak, and/or AutoCAD preferred.
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Receive mentorship and guidance from senior level Civil Engineers through a variety of civil engineering projects.
• Perform redlines on project drawings, pull technical reports and complete quantity calculations and assist with project cost estimates.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with project teams such as CAD designers, engineers, subcontractors to complete projects safely, on time, and with high quality.
• Assist in client contact and communications.
• May include onsite construction observation duties during the construction phase of projects.
