This position reports into the Systems Engineering group in Cambridge, MA, supporting senior staff in performing general laboratory functions for the design and characterization of combination products as well as general laboratory support such as supporting preventive maintenance, calibration of lab equipment, and maintaining Good Laboratory Practices. This position requires the application of engineering principles to perform the job functions and the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across different functions to successfully complete projects. This position is expected to be at least 80% on-site. The ideal candidate for the Engineer role at our client’s Cambridge site is an entry-level to early-career professional with a Bachelor’s in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s acceptable with limited experience) and 0–3 years of industry or internship experience. This hands-on, lab-focused position supports combination product development through equipment testing and system characterization. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills, proficiency in Good Documentation and Laboratory Practices (GDP/GLP), and familiarity with 3D modeling, Python scripting, and data analysis tools like JMP or Minitab. The role requires the ability to perform lab testing, author technical reports, present findings, and work onsite. Reliability, adaptability, and a strong desire to learn are essential to supporting internal product development timelines.
