About The Position
Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with commercial diving certification and experience to perform structural inspections both above and below water. As part of our New York, NY dive team, you will be working with a professional engineering inspection team that provides consulting services to clients primarily in the NY area and infrequent overnight travel is required. As a member of the firmwide Inspection & Rehabilitation (I&R) Practice, occasional travel to waterfront destinations (both domestically and internationally) is available for those that would like to participate. The principal function of this position is to perform assessments and investigations of marine and bridge structures through above and below water field operations, follow-on report preparation with repair recommendations, cost estimates, and development of structural repair designs. You will utilize modern workflows that include field tablets, UAS (drones), nondestructive testing and evaluation, marine mapping and imaging, analysis and modeling tools. We perform these inspections for federal agencies, states (department of transportation), municipalities, private clients, ports and marine terminal operators, marinas, wind and energy facilities and many more!
