About The Position

Assist engineers and management in engineering planning and design of electric distribution system expansion and maintenance.

Requirements

• Associate degree in technical discipline such as electrical engineering or design drafting, or a High School Diploma and a minimum of two years working in the electric utility industry or engineering industry.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Knowledge of electric delivery system, construction standards, materials and equipment, basic math, algebra and trigonometry functions.
• Above average interpersonal relations, communication, organizing and analytical skills.
• Fully competent computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to determine their electrical service needs.
• Prepare or assist in preparation of field layouts of routine jobs; such as staking, sketching, inventories, estimates, work request preparation and materials utilizing company work management and graphical design tools.
• Make, or assist in making, routine technical surveys or analyses; such as load balance or voltage drop calculations.
• Inspect work for conformance to drawings and specifications.
• Acquire or assist in the acquisition of distribution easements.
• Perform surveying and general transit work.
• Settle damage claims pertaining to construction and rebuilding of lines.
• Prepare engineering drawings from work prints and field notes.
• Perform and assist technical employees with routine engineering duties in office.
• Assist, as necessary, in storm restoration.
• All other duties and projects as assigned.
