The Data Engineer builds the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Azure, and AWS 'big data' technologies. The Data Engineer is responsible for identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, visualization, analytical tools
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional/ non-functional business requirements
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
  • Work with stakeholder teams and team management to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Create data tools for analytics and data science team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product's performance and effectiveness
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years Data Engineering experience
  • Required Experience building and optimizing ‘big data' data pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • Required Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Required Experience in languages such as SQL, DAX, Python, Java, Scala, and/or Go
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Experience designing and building self-service analytics and big data solutions using cloud technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure EventHub/Kafka, Azure Data Factory, Snowpipe, AWS Glue, etc)
