The Engineer – Cyber and Industrial Control System Administrator is responsible for managing compliance automation and evidence, including vulnerability scanning, security configuration, and incident response for the Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years in network and systems engineering roles.
  • DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical Level II requirements.
  • Microsoft Server certification, nix/BSD certification, and IDS/IPS certification at the time of start.
  • Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (ACAS, Nessus) and SIEM platforms.
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Open Shortest Path First, and Border Gateway Protocol.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, Palo Alto High Availability.
  • Experience with VMWare, Kernel-based Virtual Machine, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Microsoft Windows.
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, serving weekly in Primary, Secondary, and Off roles for continuous coverage.
  • RMF compliance processes and DoD cybersecurity directives.
  • Industrial Control System and Fire Alarm Reporting System administration.
  • Security configuration standards (STIG/SRG) and vulnerability management tools.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for cybersecurity incidents.
  • Ability to manage backups and media handling with two-person integrity.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that include the ability to interact with a wide variety of key stakeholders to ensure timely responses for all communications and deliverables across all projects.
  • Superb planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Results-driven with a positive attitude and a high degree of initiative and responsiveness.
  • Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and attend to details while staying focused on key priorities and management.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Own compliance automation and evidence collection for RMF Step 5.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Nessus.
  • Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs) to systems.
  • Conduct and maintain SIEM triage and coordinate incident response activities.
  • Update POA&M and maintain accurate compliance documentation and artifacts.
  • Administer Fire Alarm Reporting System and Industrial Control System software.
  • Support media handling procedures and ensure backup and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Conduct legacy administration.
  • Other duties as assigned.
