About The Position

This entry‑level position supports testing of commercial vehicles to validate vehicle‑level and system‑level performance and reliability under the guidance of senior engineers. The role focuses on assisting with on‑road and virtual testing activities, monitoring ADAS features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, logging and reviewing test data, identifying potential issues, and providing structured feedback to engineering teams. The position also supports vehicle and system model development activities using state‑of‑the‑art Model‑Based Development (MBD) approaches to assist performance evaluation. The individual will learn and apply Isuzu testing standards while supporting ADAS and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) testing activities, seeking necessary technical guidance from senior staff. This is a developmental role designed to build hands‑on experience in commercial vehicle testing, modeling, and validation.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in engineering or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in automotive engineering, research, or testing (industry experience not mandatory).
  • Basic understanding of vehicle systems, sensors, and actuators.
  • Familiarity with vehicle communication system and data collection system.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot problems, and provide clear, concise feedback.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based, learning‑oriented environment.
  • Strong curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn from senior engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in internal combustion engines, BEV, alternative powertrains, robotics, or controls preferred.
  • An internship, co‑op, academic project, or research experience related to automotive, ADAS, or simulation is a plus.
  • On-the-Job Training to gain knowledge in the concept of Hardware-in-Loop and ADAS systems.
  • Basic familiarity with engineering or simulation tools preferred (training provided).

Responsibilities

  • Support data collection activities during on‑road testing of commercial vehicles following established test procedures.
  • Support road testing by driving (Supervised) vehicles equipped with ADAS systems on predefined routes under established test procedures.
  • Assist in evaluating system performance in different environmental and driving conditions.
  • Assist with logging test data, identifying anomalies, faults, or unexpected system behavior, and documenting observations.
  • Support preparation of detailed performance reports and communicate findings to engineering teams under supervision.
  • Learn test execution best practices and vehicle/system evaluation methods from senior engineers.
  • Support vehicle performance model development activities using Model‑Based Development (MBD) approaches.
  • Assist with simulation setup, basic model execution, and result review to support vehicle evaluation.
  • Support debugging and validation of models under guidance to improve understanding of system behavior.
  • Learn how virtual models are correlated with physical vehicle test results.
  • Assist in collecting and processing virtual and/or physical vehicle data related to performance and emissions.
  • Support basic data organization, visualization, and summary preparation.
  • Communicate processed results to appropriate engineering personnel under supervision.
  • Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in training, team meetings, and learning activities to build technical competence.
