The Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, validation, and industrialization of new suspension components, supporting both passive and semi‑active systems , while collaborating closely with global engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and OEM customers. This position offers a balance of hands‑on technical work, cross‑functional exposure, and guided ownership , with clear growth toward senior technical roles.

Requirements

  • Solid fundamentals in: Mechanical design, Fluid mechanics and hydraulics, Materials and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing creation with GD&T. (SolidWorks or CATIA preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, and automotive development processes
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within cross‑functional teams
  • Willingness to engage with global teams and support occasional travel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in automotive or mechanical product development (Strong internship, co‑op, or thesis experience may be considered)

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to testing, validation, CAE or CFD is a plus
  • Exposure to vehicle dynamics and ride & handling fundamentals, including an understanding of how damper characteristics influence ride comfort, handling, and vehicle performance, is a plus.
  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • Experience with suspension, dampers, hydraulics, or precision mechanical components is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the design and development of new shock absorber components and technologies, for passive and semi-active dampers. (Valves, Tubes, Fluids, etc)
  • Apply fluid mechanics and hydraulics principles to support damper performance, flow behavior, and functional optimization.
  • Support component development from concept through prototype, validation, and production release following automotive project cycles.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings with detailed GD&T, in accordance with internal and global standards.
  • Perform and document engineering calculations, design trade-off studies, and technical justifications.
  • Work with simulation and CAE teams to support virtual validation and verification activities
  • Support creation and maintenance of DFMEA, DVP&R, statements of requirements, and design documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews with internal stakeholders and OEM customers.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, weight, and manufacturability requirements.
