About The Position

The Engineer - Body position at Toyota involves leading and managing new model projects within the Body Production Engineering Department. The role focuses on ensuring that new model processes meet targets for safety, quality, productivity, and cost in Toyota's North American Body Manufacturing Shops. The engineer will be responsible for equipment management, process development, and collaboration with various internal and external groups.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work weekends, holiday periods, and shutdown periods to support tooling modification and installation projects.
• Ability to travel to support work at machine vendors, Toyota manufacturing locations, and occasionally in Japan.

Responsibilities

• Lead equipment responsibility for project schedule, budget, weld, and dimensional quality confirmation.
• Lead process development through process design, machine specification, equipment procurement and installation, safety risk assessments, dimensional accuracy investigations, and process trials based on project milestones and events.
• Interact with outside groups (Body Manufacturing Pilot, Stamping PE, Plant Facilities, etc.) to divide responsibilities and resolve conflicts.
