About The Position

The Entry-Level Power System Planning Engineer supports renewable energy and transmission projects by collecting engineering inputs, maintaining documentation, and tracking study progress with other teams and consultants. You will assist with modeling, technical studies, and compliance activities. These activities use industry-standard tools, ensuring accurate data. This contributes directly to the success of solar, wind, battery, and transmission projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field (required).
  • Interest in power systems, renewable energy, and transmission planning.

Responsibilities

  • Collect engineering drawings and technical datasheets from internal and external sources as inputs for modeling and studies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information before use.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, specifications, and equipment data to support project documentation.
  • Track the status of ongoing studies performed internally and by external consultants and help provide required information inputs to ensure studies progress smoothly.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to technical discussions with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Help prepare basic power flow, voltage, and stability studies under management.
  • Learn and apply industry-standard software tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and PSLF.
  • Support the creation and validation of models for solar, wind, and battery projects.
  • Help monitor interconnection requirements and documenting impacts for internal use.
  • Contribute to the development of internal processes to improve efficiency.
  • Prepare draft reports, presentations, and communications for review by senior staff.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
