Launch your engineering career on the Navy’s front lines as an Engineer Associate with GDIT. You’ll support Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific Codes 55131/55132/55133) delivering Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) and related tactical network capabilities across ashore, afloat, subsurface, airborne, mobile, and joint environments. You’ll gain hands-on experience in labs and classified spaces—building, integrating, testing, and documenting mission networks that warfighters depend on. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT Build, rack/stack, power, and cable lab systems; label, document, and validate connectivity (fiber/copper, VLANs, trunk/access). Execute checklists for System Operational Verification Tests (SOVT) and Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E); capture logs and test data. Run basic diagnostics (ping, traceroute, iperf, Wireshark); isolate Layer 1–3 issues and escalate with clear fault isolation notes. Apply vendor updates and security patches; assist with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) checklists and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans under senior guidance. Update engineering drawings (block/rack elevations), bills of material (BOM), cable running sheets, and “as-built” packages. Submit/track configuration items in CMPro; support change control (CCB), trouble reports, and asset accountability. Contribute to installation design package (IDP) inputs and site survey artifacts; support field events alongside senior engineers. Coordinate daily with NIWC engineers, program office staff, and Fleet users; produce concise status notes and technical minutes.
