Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering or similar technical discipline or related Toyota experience.
  • Experience with CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, Solid Works including the ability to read, interpret and modify both 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Experience working with torque tightening control tools.
  • Experience working with and applying technical specifications and drawings for parts and equipment.
  • Experience with design or modification, technical specifications, and implementation of major and minor equipment.
  • Experience leading and coordinating problem solving activities related to safety, quality, productivity, and/or cost.
  • Project Management or project lead experience with demonstrated capability to develop and execute strategies to achieve project targets.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in automotive assembly plant.
  • Experience writing project justifications and securing/managing budgets.
  • Experience with automotive plant systems for regional compliance, such as Quality Assurance Network or similar Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience with vision systems and automated barcode detection applications.
  • PLC programming experience such as Allen Bradley, Toyopuc or similar.
  • Experience with automotive major model changes and process retooling for different manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience in new model development with in-depth knowledge of vehicle structure and vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

  • Problem solving activities related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost issues for daily production, new model introduction, and special projects.
  • Develop specifications and procurement of equipment and tools and jigs to ensure quality and safety of new and existing processes.
  • Collaborate across departments to develop and sustain effective countermeasures for completed vehicle problems.
  • Set-up and kaizen of vehicle processing, including critical process controls, regulations, part selection, and safety.
  • Networking with production and maintenance daily, to identify, investigate, and collaboratively implement changes to improve processes and products.
