About The Position

The position involves serving as an Engineer, Architect, or Community Planner within the Facilities, Engineering, and Acquisition Division of NAVFAC Engineering Command Mid-Atlantic. The role focuses on producing and supporting project planning products and services for various military construction projects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Experience in performing project planning of complex military construction (MILCON), demolition, and maintenance/repair projects.
  • Ability to detect problem areas in project planning and recommend special actions for their resolution.
  • Knowledge of engineering, architecture, or planning standards to deliver technical planning products.
  • Experience in conducting formal presentations and briefings to high-level civilian and military leaders.
  • Ability to conduct assessments to identify areas for improvement, analyze processes, recommend changes, evaluate impacts, and assist with implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Produce or support the production of project planning products and services for facilities sustainment, restoration, modernization, and military construction projects.
  • Coordinate efforts with various groups including customers, logistics, field technicians, vendors, or sponsors to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Review designs of construction projects for compliance with criteria, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Meet with personnel such as architectural and engineering experts, high-level civilian and military leaders, and consultants to resolve project issues.
  • Review engineering, architecture, and planning requirements through the stages of planning, criteria development, and construction to verify all factors meet mission objectives.
