About The Position
This Project Manager position in the Central Region Aviation Design Group manages federally funded capital improvement projects for state-owned airports (and occasionally highways) throughout central and western Alaska. The position oversees the development and preliminary design of multiple capital improvement projects, coordinating efforts with in-house design staff, private architectural/engineering consultants, and various departmental and external agencies. This role also involves supervising professional engineering staff and providing mentorship in project management, design, and consultant contract management.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License Required
- Position requires registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect in the State of Alaska.
- Engineer/Architect 2: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and one year of professional experience as an Engineer/Architect 1 or Engineering Associate with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent.
- Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b). Persons employed under this provision must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
- Engineer/Architect 3: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and three years of professional engineering or architectural experience (Engineer/Architect series), or the equivalent.
- Note: Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b).
