About the position

The Device Physics Team within the Seagate Research Group (SRG) is responsible for conducting research on advanced data storage and memory technologies. The work performed by this team directly informs the Company's ten-year hard disk drive product roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on advanced channels for future magnetic recording applications.
  • Perform channel characterization, equalizer design, detector design, modulation code design, and error correction code design.

Requirements

  • Experience in programming languages (Cuda, C++, Fortran, Python)
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Leadership, decision-making, and strong initiative
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline
