In this job, you will support Vermeer customers by leading Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) efforts during new product development. You’ll work closely with product development teams, suppliers, and manufacturing to identify potential quality risks early and implement mitigation and control plans that ensure consistent, predictable performance in production. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering a superior customer and dealer experience through robust quality planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum two years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or design engineering.
  • Vermeer Level 1-3 GD&T Training.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification.
  • Understanding of International Organization for Standardization and International Automotive Task Force documentation & compliance.
  • Experience executing the five core automotive tools for quality planning.
  • Experience working in a quality control system.

Responsibilities

  • Execute advanced product quality planning and production part approval process activities by setting quality goals/deliverables and identifying/mitigating risk to ensure success during new product launches.
  • Support New Product and Process Development System (NPPDS) by completing assigned tasks Areas of Focus: part/process capability, gage development, metallurgy, design for manufacturability and assembly process, and calibration.
  • Support capability studies after reviewing required geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and significant/critical characteristics on prints.
  • Communicate all changes/updates from engineering change notices to related and assigned NPPDS tasks.
  • Request corrective actions upon review of certified part information during the safe launch process.
  • Execute the creation of all forms for control documents.
  • Coordinate with other quality engineers, leaders and other peer function leadership to ensure quality objectives and requirements are met.
