About The Position

The position involves testing and modifying general systems-level software/hardware, specialized utility, and/or hardware. The role requires interpreting wireless specifications, designing test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures, and documenting systems-level defects using a bug tracking system. The individual will identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and document problems with program function, output, or content, and develop testing programs that assess the effectiveness of a new system or modification of an existing system.

Requirements

  • Scripting skills in Python (preferred) / Perl.
  • C programming.
  • Experience with JTAG, HW boards, and lab equipment like scopes.
  • Digital IP validation and post-Si characterization for power and performance.
  • Computer architecture, SOC architecture, and GPU or any other multimedia IP experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Working under close supervision.
  • Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions with limited impact.
  • Using verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.
  • Completing most tasks with multiple steps which can be performed in various orders.
  • Exercising some creativity to troubleshoot technical problems.

  • Collecting basic information and identifying common errors related to systems testing.
  • Collaborating with individuals inside own team to complete the team's work.
  • Conducting log analyses to identify where an issue has occurred.
  • Gathering, integrating, and interpreting information from various sources to troubleshoot issues.
  • Assisting with verifying that proposed solutions to identified issues accurately address and correct the problem.
  • Detecting bugs in the system under test and resolving issues using basic debugging approaches.
  • Adapting to minor changes and setbacks to manage pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Managing individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with close supervision.
  • Communicating feedback about identified feature issues to software and systems teams.
  • Regularly discussing testing problems with manager and peers.
  • Conducting basic field or lab tests as directed by tech leads.
  • Making simple decisions regarding basic feature issues associated with systems testing.
  • Communicating with tech leads to verify accuracy and adequate running time.
  • Seeking opinions of others within own team about problem-solving approaches.
  • Writing functional tests for features to ensure functionality.
