The essential job responsibilities of the Engineer 4 are to apply advanced level engineering principles necessary to the design and planning of electric substation facilities; evaluate products, ideas and equipment; coordinate departmental work with other departments inside and outside the Division.

Requirements

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering; Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • Have 6 years' experience in Substation Engineering including application of power apparatus to specific system requirements, basic structural design, analysis of system performance, investigation of malfunctions, supplier transactions and interpretations/applications of codes and standards
  • Have a Tennessee Engineer's Professional License
  • Have a valid driver's license from state of residence
  • Successfully complete NIMS Training within one year of entering job.
