The System Engineer (EVAC) is responsible for the engineering implementation of Sanitary Systems on new vehicle designs as well as technical coordination for Rail Services (aftermarket) modernization programs. Systems engineers configure and propose a sanitary system based on concepts and components from the global EVAC design portfolio and best practices that will meet customer functional specifications and industry standards (APTA,NSF, ADA, FRA, ASTM, EMC standards, and meeting all water quality standards in the US). The KB Sanitary Systems group, “EVAC”, enables car builders and operators to provide trains with toilets, showers, and freshwater systems. These systems are used in standard and ADA accessible toilet rooms, private cabins, and dining cars on passenger trains. Sanitary Systems are comprised of pneumatically and electrically actuated and controlled vacuum toilets and electrical control systems to control and monitor them. Typical systems also include an integrated automatic door system, heaters, and other embedded hardware and connect to vehicle management systems.
