Job Description Summary: Product development: Plan, implement, monitor and deliver designated tasks and deliverables. Designated tasks and deliverables are articulated around 2 main pillars: Design Control deliverables: design inputs, system and sub system requirements, system and sub system specifications (like dimensional, material, visual, functional specifications), design verification plan and protocols, testing request to R&D lab, statistical analysis of design verification results with minitab software, design verification reports and executive summary report, design review inputs and design review minutes, defect record and investigation. Problem solving related tasks and deliverables: root cause analysis deliverables (ex: Ishikawa diagram, 5Why, Design of Experiment), product design correction planning and execution tracking. These deliverables are part of Design control defect management or non conformance or CAPA processes per quality management system). Technical support to customer: extract of BD design history file like design control evidence to support customer registration journey, technical presentation to help educating customer to BD product and providing guidance on how to test or how assemble BD device with other components. Responsible for solving technical problems - Product non-conformance to a requirement as for instance: Defect during design verification: when there is result in the design verification demonstrating that design verification protocol success criteria is not met doesn’t meet one of the design verification. Failure during R&D test method validation: when this is a validation success criteria of design verification test method validation that is not met. Deviation during process validation related to the product design: when there is process validation failure where one of the root cause or contributing factor pertain to the product design (as opposed to manufacturing process & environment). Customer technical problems: when there is a complaint, a call for support or a customer feedback pertaining to the product design in terms of potential cause. Accountable for success of assigned tasks and deliverables. Participate in periodic design reviews of projects: Projects to develop variants of existing commercialized product – often named “customization projects” (ex: device configuration with other component color, other injection volume set up, different delivery packaging). Projects to implement a design change on existing product to improve its performance, capacity or cost – often named “sustaining projects”. Technology transfer: Participate in implementation of transition from research to development to manufacturing. Process effectiveness: Ensure appropriate processes are followed for effective and timely engagement of related parties in completion of designated project activities. Innovation: Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practical. Customer focus: Execute an understanding of customer needs and processes to ensure relevant and innovative product development solutions.
