About The Position

Nordstrom is seeking engineers to join our Merchandising, Inventory, Supply Chain (MISC) teams ! As an Engineer 1 , you will be a key member of a team of Nordstrom Technology professionals that applies scientific, mathematical and social principles to design, build, and maintain technology products, devices, systems and solutions. These technology products and solutions provide amazing customer experiences while meeting the needs of the business. The scope, responsibility and accountability are at the individual unit level of work under direct supervision. We want to give customers a compelling and relevant experience in any place they engage with us (like in our stores, our websites and our apps) that leave them happy and excited to come back. You will part of an agile team that is responsible for creating these experiences by building and maintaining systems. This role is offered as hybrid in Seattle, WA. Candidates must be available to work in office at the Nordstrom corporate headquarters a minimum of 4 days/week to be considered for this position. A day in the life… Contributes to code, design, collaborates with local team and has scope/accountability Tests all scenarios and conforms to quality standards Measures and understand local scope Conforms to secure coding practices and secure system fundamentals Displays knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals related to own work

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent work experience required
  • Background in data & technology
  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented programming languages, such as Java, Python, Go, NodeJs, Javascript/Typescript
  • Familiarity with RESTful architecture and micro services
  • Familiarity with Cloud technologies like AWS and GCP
  • Ability to write Unit and Integration Tests
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Comfortable working on team projects and collaborating via version control tools such as GitHub and GitLab.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience in engineering or related field (preferred), may be recent grad
