About The Position

The position involves performing normal test set-up for production engines and complex test set-up for product improvement and engineering investigation. The candidate will conduct complete mechanical, electrical, and operational acceptance tests of a complicated nature on all engine models, including all standard and non-standard tests for engineering investigations, acceptance testing, and troubleshooting and component endurance tests. Responsibilities also include installing engines into test cells, adjusting engine controls, using diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting, and maintaining test records.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in jet engine testing or varied jet engine assembly.
  • High School education or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Perform normal test set-up for production engines and complex test set-up for product improvement and engineering investigation.
  • Conduct complete mechanical, electrical, and operational acceptance tests on all engine models.
  • Install engine into test cell and all required instrumentation.
  • Adjust engine controls and make calculations to comply with test requirements.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot engine malfunctions.
  • Inspect replacement of parts and accept or reject engines based on test results.
  • Diagnose and suggest corrective actions on engines or components failing tests.
  • Instruct student engineers and lower-rated personnel on test procedures.
  • Maintain records and perform related duties.
