About The Position

The Engine Technician position at Pratt & Whitney's Edwards Air Force Base involves supporting military aircraft engines, specifically the F-35 and F-22. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Comprehensive knowledge of gas turbine engine construction and related inspection methods.
• 1+ years of related military aircraft engine maintenance experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift and on weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Prior Military Aerospace Engine Maintenance experience.
• Hoist and forklift operation experience.
• Familiarity with test cell and flight line maintenance operations.
• Experience with engine blade blend and borescope operations.
• Knowledge of non-powered Aerospace Ground Equipment.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, test, and assemble Pratt & Whitney military aircraft engines under supervision.
• Utilize standard and precision measuring instruments to check and calculate dimensions as required.
• Perform routine maintenance and request adjustments to tools and equipment as necessary.
• Read and interpret technical orders, manufacturers' manuals, and other technical information.
• Ensure adherence to technical orders and compliance with Pratt & Whitney quality policies.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area, complying with established safety rules and regulations.
• Communicate difficulties to supervisors and dock chiefs as applicable.
• Train for, obtain, and maintain necessary licenses and certifications.
