About The Position

St. Patrick Center provides opportunities for self-sufficiency and dignity to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Individuals and families build permanent, positive change in their lives through safe and affordable housing, sound mental and physical health, and employment and financial stability. Working collaboratively with individuals, businesses, government and other service providers, St. Patrick Center will end chronic homelessness in the St. Louis region through Housing First, an evidence-based practice that tells us to remove barriers, do intake and assessment early, move people into housing and offer them support to achieve their goals. Position SummaryCatholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, through our service line of St. Patrick Center, is hiring for a full-time Engagement Staff position at our off-site location at Rosati Place. We are looking for candidates with exceptional interpersonal skills for the engagement staff position. The Engagement Staff member will assist in implementing the daily care of all clients/residents in compliance with treatment and program goals, direct phone calls in a timely and professional manner and perform clinical duties as assigned. The core working hours of the St. Patrick Center are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Current Med Tech Certificate or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • First aid training and CPR-can obtain after hire.
  • Current TB test within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience with mental health/SUD required.
  • Housing First philosophy knowledge
  • Knowledge of mental health and co-occurring diagnoses
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended period.
  • Adequate and appropriate communication skills
  • Ability to see within normal parameters, view monitors, and listen for disturbances.
  • Ability to handle physical movement and tasks as required.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Respectful of all individuals.

  • Understand and practice client confidentiality.
  • Understand and practice client/staff boundaries.
  • Ability to coach clients in educational manner toward treatment goals.
  • Ability to complete appropriate documentation within licensure and facility standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive relationship with each client.
  • Familiar with each client’s diagnosis, medications, and history to assist in implementation of treatment goals.
  • Assist in implementing the daily direct care of all clients/residents in compliance with treatment and program goals for Rosati Place.
  • Treat each client with respect and keep good professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge and understanding with each client’s diagnosis, medications and history in order to assist in implementation of treatment goals of clients.
  • Report behavioral/physical changes, problems, and/ or concerns regarding clients to case manager and respond/intervene as needed in therapeutic manner.
  • Daily documentation of up to 15 individual clients per day/shift
  • Prepare, serve, and properly store meals meeting licensure standards, if applicable
  • Retrieve and distribute incoming mail as needed to clients.
  • Distribute medication to clients each shift utilizing EMAR system.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as applicable.
  • Observe front desk monitor screens for unusual activity and maintain visitor and other logs at front desk.

  • Communicate regularly with supervisor for performance and feedback.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as required or requested by supervisor, case manager, and/or management.
  • Maintain visitor and other logs at front desk.

  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Assist with organizing daily billing intervention notes.
  • Assist with compliance coordinator daily task list.
  • Assist with Rosati Place audit requirements as needed.
  • Copy, file, and assist with daily organization for all Rosati programs.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor for performance and feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned.
