The person filling this position is expected, under general direction, to ensure smooth day-to-day running and supervision of social services staff and services in accordance with program goals, targets, and performance outcomes and all CAMBA and program policies, procedures, and protocols, including the following: Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individual identifiable health information. Communicate effectively with clients, direct reporting staff, peers, supervisors, and funders Provide direct interventions with the clients that are culturally appropriate and take into account the client's communication styles, values and life experiences Provide non-direct interventions that support the shelter team and increase communication between functions Conduct and document one-on-one supervision with one or more of the following staff; Recreation Coordinator, Adult Literacy Specialist, Peer Counselors and the Employment Specialist in order to engage clients with the skills to obtain employment or enroll in vocational training programs with the ultimate goal to secure housing. Reinforce, support and integrate trauma informed care, de-escalation techniques and motivational interviewing interventions Track and analyze incidents and assist in incident debriefings including; providing crisis management assistance, interventions, and follow up with clients who have patterns of maladaptive behaviors, and education for staff on how to manage incidents from a trauma informed perspective Develop workshop curriculum for one or more of the following; Recreation Coordinator, Adult Literacy Specialist, Peer Counselors and Employment Specialist programming components. Develop community-based resources and supports towards agency housing and engagement efforts Conduct Crisis Prevention (CPI) trainings for staff members to better inform them of tactics to use to deescalate and appropriately handle incidents within the shelter. Ensure attainment of funding objectives and performance measures Conduct field visits to increase community and citywide resources Create and implement incentive system to increase client participation in on-site and community activities Plan and organize program activities to maximize program contract's goals and performance targets as outlined in OHS' Performance Incentive Plan and grant contracts. Motivate, coach and counsel direct reporting staff to excel. Ensure that all direct reporting staff completes all necessary case management documentations in eluding individual and group case management notes, housing applications, individual living plans (ILP), and referrals to providers including psychiatric referrals are completed as required and up to date. Encourage teamwork among direct reporting staff as well as among peers Troubleshoot client and direct reporting staff program problems and make decisions in accordance with program policies, procedures, and protocols Administer constructive discipline to direct reporting staff, as needed Input client data using DHS's CARES database, as needed Monitor clients' progress toward their goals (dates achieved) and document via progress notes Review all documentation related to clients' progress for accuracy, completeness, and clarity Review and sign time sheets Prepare performance appraisals for directed reporting staff Conduct chart auditing of client files (i.e., paper and electronically). Ensure staff utilization of electronic database and conduct oversight to ensure data integrity Manage own time effectively and coordinate program activities to maximize time of direct reporting staff Lead and participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders May conduct orientation sessions for new clients arriving in shelter to orient the client to the rules and regulations of the shelter. May ensure the monthly event calendar is inclusive and includes both on-site and external activities May prepare marketing materials for the program May conduct initial intake or assessment of clients and/or clients' families and periodic reassessments May have direct client service/program responsibilities in addition to the above May plan, coordinate and facilitate social/peer support events, including group facilitation for clients Tasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over a period of time
