About The Position

The Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the mission and strategic priorities of the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay by strengthening student engagement, fostering inclusive community, and amplifying the visibility of academic programs within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS). Under the general supervision of the Dean, this position implements engagement strategies that support student success, access, and belonging while promoting experiential learning and community connection across Northeast Wisconsin. The Engagement Coordinator collaborates closely with program leaders, centers, and university partners to plan and support events, oversee student employees, and elevate program stories through effective communications and social media—ensuring CAHSS initiatives are visible, vibrant, and aligned with UW‑Green Bay’s brand, mission, and values. Guided by UW‑Green Bay’s core values—Advance Fearlessly, Empower Success, Provision Access, Build Community, Express Gratitude, and Together, We Rise—the Engagement Coordinator serves as a connector and advocate for academic programs. The role manages content for Good CAHSS Productions, represents CAHSS on university-wide engagement committees, coordinates logistics and administrative operations, and serves as a welcoming first point of contact for students, staff, and community partners. Through thoughtful coordination, clear communication, and collaborative partnerships, the Engagement Coordinator helps create a supportive, student-centered environment where programs thrive, engagement grows, and the shared work of transforming lives and communities moves forward.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in managing social media and digital content
  • H.S. Diploma

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in higher education or a similar setting
  • Familiarity with event planning software and digital marketing tools, including social media advertising platforms, video editing and production, community management, or leading a brand's social media initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals, including students, faculty, staff, and external partners
  • Experience with hiring and supervising student employee(s)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures.
  • Schedules and coordinates logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and event tours, including scheduling, venue booking, catering, and technical requirements.
  • Supports work unit operations and academic program initiatives, including Shop UW purchasing, invoice payment, and summer camp programming.
  • Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups; provides basic organizational information related to academic programs and university services via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums; and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities.
  • Collects, analyzes, prepares, and distributes communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums, with a focus on highlighting academic programs, student opportunities, and program-level initiatives, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Managing content for Good CAHSS Productions.
  • Represents CAHSS in university-wide committees on engagement.
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with administrative offices and other university departments to support and implement engagement efforts within academic programs, including coordinating communications aligned with the university’s mission and values.
  • Manages and coordinates social media content that supports and amplifies academic programs and centers, including overseeing student employees contributing to program-level content.
