About The Position

UWM is seeking an Engagement Coordinator to promote community awareness of our people-centric culture and mission of helping others. In this role, you will engage with our 9,000+ Team Members, including diverse Team Member Resource Groups, on a daily basis. You will assist with event collaboration, relationship building, and fundraising initiatives. This involves managing relationships with existing groups and developing new ways for our Team Members to interact with the community and raise awareness about various topics. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Collaborating and building relationships with diverse resource groups at UWM. Working with the Community Outreach team and decision-makers to define events, execute strategies, and identify growth opportunities. Designing and deploying new initiatives for our Team Members to give back, participate in events, and find ways to improve our processes. Conducting daily research on geographic trends and happenings to identify opportunities for community involvement. Embracing the high potential for professional growth within this position and our organization. Raising awareness in communities and within our organization to promote the benefits of community efforts at UWM. Serving as a “brand ambassador” for the Engagement Team and the UWM brand. Requirements

  • 1+ years of professional experience in event planning, community outreach, working with diverse groups, and/or non-profit programming
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to independently learn new systems quickly
  • Proficiency with data, Outlook, and Excel
  • Creative and open to implementing innovative ideas, preferably within a large corporate organization

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in Event Planning, PR, or Communications preferred but not required
